Solid State Relay – (DC-AC Switch)

The solid state relay (SSR) is a switch we use to turn the AC mains current that goes to the silicone heatpad on and off

You run what normally goes to the DC heatbed to the DC side of the SSR. This current will decide when the SSR is open or closed on the AC side

The silicone heatpad connects one wire directly to the AC mains current and the other to one terminal on the AC side of the SSR

The last step is connecting the last terminal on the AC side of the SSR to the other mains AC power

Now the AC mains current is closed until the controller sends a signal through the DC side of the SSR to open up the AC current to start the heatbed warmer
